Pearl went straight to the president's office and confronted Richard face to face.
Richard looked at Pearl, who seemed irritated, and felt a sinking feeling in his heart. "Pearl, what brings you here out of the blue?"
"If I hadn't asked, would you have kept it from me? Are the two of us really engaged? Do you consider me a part of your life?"
Her consecutive questions left Richard speechless.
"Pearl, I didn't mean that."
Pearl's expression turned cold. "Then show me this quarter's plan."
Richard remained motionless, showing his reluctance.
"Fine. If you won't, I'll find out on my own!" Pearl took a deep breath to suppress her anger. "I'll call Fifi now to see what's going on at Waldorf Enterprises. This is not a mistake you should be making."
Richard stayed silent for a while and finally said, "I'll show you."
As the proposal was placed in front of Pearl, she struggled internally.
Opening it, she found it clearly stated that the ownership of one of the company's subsidiaries had been transferred to Miss Jenny Sullivan.
"Jenny Sullivan?! Richard, don't tell me that you're giving Jenny this company because you feel sorry for her." Pearl's expression stiffened.
"No, it's not like that," Richard attempted to explain, but he fell silent when he thought about it.
"Go on."
"Hugo threatened me with your private affairs. If I don't want your secrets exposed, I had to transfer ownership of one of the companies to Jenny. After reviewing the proposal, I agreed."
Pearl's voice grew urgent, "What leverage does he have on me? Can't you just tell me about it?"
"He mentioned something about Damian and you."
Richard pulled out the photos from his phone and tossed them to Pearl. "See for yourself. These are records of everything you both experienced overseas."
A faint pain flickered in Richard's eyes. He couldn't help but feel sadness whenever he looked at the photos.
