'Fabian promised and assured me of my engagement with Faye. This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for him!' Shawn grumbled internally.
Meanwhile, Fabian seemed calm. He told Shawn, "Mister James, it's not entirely a bad thing. It might be impossible for you and Faye now, but she's still my daughter. We have someone like her to depend on, so it's not a bad thing, right?"
Shawn thought about it and agreed, but thought to himself, 'What about the humiliation I suffered today?'
Therefore, seething in anger, fuming silently.
Pendleton stepped forward and told Shawn, "Shawn, calm down and don't be angry. This is probably just Faron's personal dealings. It won't affect the industrial park project."
"Oh yeah? But I don't have high hopes for this project now," Shawn replied coldly.
Shawn did not say that purely out of spite, but also because it was true.
No one could be successful in Seechertown after making enemies out of Wilbur and Faron.
Pendleton hurriedly said, "Don't worry. I'll visit Governor Campbell tonight to clarify the situation. This project is approved by Governor Campbell, so he probably won't give you any trouble."
Shawn scoffed coldly without saying anything.
The project had been in planning for so long, and he had invested a lot into it. He would have to suffer huge losses if he gave up.
Everything depended on the Campbells. If they have an issue with the project, then Shawn would pull out from the investment and leave without any hesitation. Suffering some minor losses would be fine as long as he could get out of trouble's way.
If the issue was only due to his conflict with Faye, then this project might still carry on.
In the worst case, he would just need to swallow his pride and stop provoking Wilbur and Faye.
Fabian smiled and said, "Thanks, Mister Howard. It shouldn't be a problem if you put in some good words with Governor Campbell."
Pendleton frowned. He thought about the relationship between Faye, Wilbur, Faron, and Fabian, and he felt like it should not be a problem.
However, it would be troublesome if Wilbur wanted revenge.
He smiled and said, "Your problems are my problems. Don't be a stranger to me."
Faye smiled shyly. She was overflowing with joy.
After arriving home, they saw Jose pacing back and forth at the door with a deathly serious look.
"Jose, why are you here? Aren't you going back to rest?" asked Wilbur.
Jose seemed to be deep in thought as he did not even notice that Wilbur was back.
He turned to look at Wilbur who spoke, then hurriedly welcomed him as he bowed. He said, "Sir, I have a personal favor to ask. I hope you will forgive me."
"What is it? Is it serious?" Wilbur was slightly surprised because Jose looked serious.
Jose suddenly knelt and begged, "Sir, please help me."
